H3T Hydraulic Winch!

Post by Sugarphreak »

Got the thumbs up today from the shop on a custom installation... the H3T is going to get an upgrade of Hydraulic proportions! I am going to place an order tommorow for a 10,500lb Mile Marker winch <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... SMILEY.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />

It will likely take a two to three weeks to get here, then I will take it down for an pre-installation appointment before leaving it there for a day or so while it gets installed.

I think this is a first for an H3T... and perhaps even the H3 as no adapter kits exist... and even across 4 Hummer forums nobody seems to have installed one.

It won't fit.... I have about 6.5" clear from the center of the bolt hole to the stiff plates on each side and the winch needs about 7" or more on one of the sides.

I finally got a responce from a Road Amor Rep about 4 days ago after I sent in a mass e-mail to ALL of the people I dealt with there during the sale... she said Cindy's account was dead and asked me to send in a detailed account of the problem to the warrarnty department... so I did, I made sure to CC her as well. I was polite but clear about the problems.

So after being ignored for 3 full days now with ZERO responce I couldn't help but notice they changed the rating for the bumper on the web site from 12,000lbs to 9,000lbs.

http://www.roadarmor.com/site/hummer/h3.php

So where does this leave me? I have no idea...

I am pretty close to starting a thread called "Why Road Armor Sucks"

Coles Notes:

-Road Armor approaches our local Hummer forum with an discounted offer

-Offer is for an H3 bumper with guard with a 12K winch capacity

-I choose Road Armor instead of ARB for the featured 12K winch capacity

-Bumper comes; no bolting hardware

-Road Armor ignore me

-Bumper tow hooks don't line up, ask for advice

-Bumper start to show signs of rusting at the welds

-Road Armor ignore me

-Bumper winch compartment is too small

-Road Armor ignore me

-I post thread on my experience, send mass e-mail to Road Armor

-Road Armor Replies... "please send information about problems"

-I send detailed information about problems

-Road Armor downgrades winch on website... and ignores me
