The H3T has a 102L gas tank.... I believe the H3 only has a 83L one
With the 5cyl and a manual tranny I can almost make it from Calgary to Vancouver on a single tank <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Actually I think I could... but I wouldn't want to risk running out of fuel, people would have a field day with that.

You could always just get a Jerry Can rack, I noticed that most guys up North seem to have them

Re: H3 Gas Tanks
Let me know what you find out!
I have the H3 Alpha which burns more fuel than the 5cyl but yet has the same 83 litre tank thus would love to change that out.... pretty tight under there though so i don;t know if there is much extra room.
I saw in my travels on the net - A guy had what looked like a 40 litre tank that was mounted to a safari rack that had a pump/gravity hose that he filled his tank with...looked very sharp and extremely practical. Probably a home made contraption as I've seen siphoning hoses at Canadian tire that would do the same trick!

Bad news I doubt you can Transplant an H3T fuel tank into a H3. The frame is different in fact I believe all 09 and later H3's are on another frame. The 08's and earlier are on Colorado Frames which GM discontinued the newer frame is slightly wider and in the H3T's case longer.

Re: H3 Gas Tanks
There is an outfit is South Africa that makes aluminum exterior fuel tanks, but each model is designed for a specific vehicle, and no Hummers are listed.
They are model specific to avoid any stress whatsoever from body flexing, which could result in a crack, and a gasoline shower.
I think the safest thing for you would be a roof mounted Jerry can rack. Rear mounted is ok too, as long as you are not rear-ended.
That's how the armed forces do it...
