Re: So I blew a diff
I have not had a detroit but after alot of input from various forums here is the just of it.
Cons:
Detroits are no good on slippery roads(ice, snow, rain) since when you try to turn it will want to go straight due to the locked diff.
You get some churping on tighter turns which also stresses the drive train.
Detroits are not selectable so they are on all the time.
Can't turn as tight(both on and offroad)
Pros:
Great for offroading especially in mud since BTM doesnt work as well in mud as a real locker.
Alot easier to complete obsticles.. more like a point and shoot instead of concentrating on the RPMs/Brake pressure.
Now like I said this is just from what I have heard... none of it is first hand knowledge, yet.... <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
