I tried a few mock ups of winches today made of cardboard... I pretty much confirmed the worst. Nothing fits... it is too small and even modifying the bumper is not an option because it run right into the side of the mounting bracket.

This is seriously bull-s**t, I can't believe they would put a bumper out there with a claim of 12K when no such winch would ever fit into the bumper. In fact, the only winch I have found over 9000lbs was the T-max performance series for rock crawling.

I am really bummed about this right about now...  I should have bought the ARB instead <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

I sent another e-mail to Cindy... but she has been brushing me off with no responses ever since I was asking why no bolts came with my bumper, I had to provide the bolts myself and when I asked if they would reimburse me they started ignoring me.

I didn't really understand why, I fully understand mistakes get made and in this case where they left out all of the bolts, washers and nuts I was very gracious about the issue.

I had found a few people upset with rusting on other forums prior to ordering, RA did the same thing to them. I doubt I will hear anything back <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Oddly enough Dave pointed out my welds are showing rust already too

Sorry Dude, I'm pissed for you to as you spent really good money on that bumper!  Do you think a Fab shop could do anything for you - something creative perhaps?

It would be a massive rework job... I will post up another thread to show pictures and the problems which will make it more clear.

Perhaps an email outlining the step you have taken to talk this problem out and work through it along with the steps you are going to take should they not respond...such as a call to the Better Business Bureau, then a letter from a lawyer talking about a false advertising claim and a class action suit for all people who have purchased their bumper....to start.

I fired off an e-mail already to them this week about the winch clearance problems, I doubt I will get anything back.

Ever since I talked to them about the bolts they have been just brushing me off... I am hoping by stepping up to a public forum with the issues it will encourage them to re-open the lines of communication.

I am not really looking for a legal battle over the border... too much hassle for too little return.

Somebody pointed this out to me today, it is a T-max 12.5K winch that would fit with a 3/16" to spare. The first good news I have had all week.... although I am beyond disappointed that I can't fit the Hydraulic winch in.

I hear you as I plan to go the Hydraulic route.... but electric is still good - perhaps retro fit a second battery under the hood which will double you pull time - higher output alternator would be a good idea as well but now we're looking at some serious buckas...
