Rims and CTIS

I was looking at putting on a set of aftermarket rims but i was wondering how this may affect the CTIS system. I guess i should probably get down and have a look one of these days how its all put together but i was wondering if you guys might have some insight on what to look out for or if you supposed to disable the CTIS with aftermarket rims on. I'd appreciate any and all feed back Thanks

Gt inc sells after market h1 rim they are pricey but the they are nice

You can plug the air outlet in the gearbox, However, drill and tap for a 1/4 pipe and install the CTIS into the new rims,In the hole for the valve stem!!

I have also seen a distributer selling CTIS lines that hook onto standard valve stems... I forget which dealer this was though.

Also as Roys said you can drill and tap a CTIS port... There are a couple writes ups on how to do it with an H2 wheel and wouldnt be too much different than any other wheels.



Another issue with aftermarket setups is load capacity and offsets... not many wheels are built to H1 spec(hardly any at all actually) and could cause premature balljoint wear or ruin the wheel while offroading if not rated for the proper load.

As Roys stated Cepek is a dealer that sells H1 spec rims... there are others(calgold, predator). Cepeks seem it get the higher rating(after all they were once suppliers to AM General at one point.). Also heard one feedback from the calgold rims and the user said he used them for several years without issue and was very happy with them(they are also alot cheaper than the Cepek).





I plan on getting Cepeks once the funds are right but until then I think I might modify a set of H2s or even get the calgolds.

Thanks guys, i guess its not as easy as changing tires on the car lol. There's nothing wrong with the rims now so i think i'm going to just keep the stock ones on. As TC put it they are unique and do look good.
