25 Apr 10, Lingham Lake and Powerline Ride

Post by deleau »

CHS Mbrs,

I'm thinking that a 09:00 meet at the Tim's in Tweed, coffee up <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/c-n.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':coffeenose:' /> and get on the road by (+-) 09:30. Timmies is located at 601 Moira St, at the N end of town on hwy 37. The best probable route to get there would be Hwy 7 out of Peterbourgh if your coming from TO. from the La belle Province, 401 to Belleville, up hwy 37 to Tweed. It will take us about 15 - 20 minutes from Tweed to the start point for this exercise, which will be at Cooper, located at 44 38 44N 077 28 30W and continue East via power line IVO Cloyne 44 47 46N 077 10 50W. You can see the general lay of the land on "ACME. Mapper.com".

The ride itself will take about five hours or so depending on the members off road urge and sightseeing tenancies (to be expected). This route is a total Sunday family outing. Nothing dramatic or hair raising. I suggest that members bring a lunch, and we can stop half way IVO Sugar mountain for this. In the past I've seen loads of deer and quite a few bears. I haven't seen any Moose but I know their around. I have a Garmin GPS track that I can post for your situational awareness. Any questions?
