New H3X Member On The Forum

Post by Brewmeister »

Well, I'm also joining the ranks.

I take possession of my 2007 Desert orange H3X in about a week and a half. Bought it thru a car broker in Montreal (who used to be the sales manager at the Montreal dealer). The hummer is still on the East Coast.

When I bought my Mitsubishi Outlander in 2006, I called it my Mini-Hummer. I guess it was just a matter of time. I ride a highly modified Harley from late March to early December. The Hummer will be my daily ride when I'm not riding my bike and will also be my companion on multiple mountaineering and kayaking trips.

I will surely soon sign up for the May Quebec Hummer Rally which is just a 45 minutes drive from where I live. I seem to notice Hummers everywhere now that I'm an upcoming owner. Yesterday, I stopped and chatted with a H1 owner from Ste-Dorothee while at the corner store. Minutes before, I saw my first desert orange H3 while at the lights (I bought mine after surfing the net, doing lots of reading and via photos on the GMAC website). So, I have never seen my vehicle (next week).

The photo shown in my avatar is not my Hummer but I will be nearly identical.

Glad to be part of the Hummer family.

Cheers,

You'll love the truck, they're awesome. I recently bought an H3 also and am enjoying every minute of it!

My H3X finally made it to Montreal last Friday (Plaza GM in Montreal bought it from a GM dealer in Prince Edward Island). I bought my H3 via a car broker who happened to be the former sales manager at Plaza. It took 3 full weeks from the day I signed the contract to the day it arrived in Montreal last Friday.

Its still at the dealer. it needs to be thoroughly cleaned and go through a full inspection. Since its got 26500 miles (43000 km) and its a 2007, its still on warranty. I'm paying for GM to do the same inspection that they would do for a GM Optimum vehicle. That way, if they find anything wrong that's still on warranty, then change or repair on GM's back. I'll also know the vehicle health status for other parts not normally covered on warranty (tire, brakes, exhaust, ...).

I hope to be driving it off the lot before the long weekend.

I'm posting 2 early pictures that I took of it in GM's garage on Friday.

I drove my new acquisition over 700 miles on the long weekend. This H3 rides so smooth, its amazing. Its the all decked out H3X with navigations system, leather heated seats, two-tone interior, Monsoon sound system, ...

I'm very, very happy with it. This vehicle has 26500 miles (about 43000 km) and rides like new. I drove mostly highway, sometimes over hilly roads (in Quebec's Charlevoix region) and I averaged 12.3 Litres/100 km (which is 19 MPG US and nearly 23 MPG Imperial). I expect a bit more consumption in the city, but I'm still quite happy with these numbers.

Now I don't know what to ride daily (my Harley or my Hummer). Both vehicles have me grinning from ear to ear.
