yeah.... on my list to.....

So I can get a set of Nitto Mud Graplers 37/13.5/18 with a new set of rims from Innovative auto in the SE

$1789 for the rubber and $999 for the chrome rims.... I don't think that's too bad? Best I found was $562 each at Kal Tire for $2248...

So a package arrived today:

I almost went head over heels when I went to pick it up... very heavy package.

So I opened it up:

Look at that, unlike some OTHER companies... this one INCLUDED bolting hardware!

Played with the trigger thingy a bit...

But, lets get to the good stuff! What is in here?

I assume you mean Fort Garry rather than Garry Fort; that's where I got my heavy shackles from. They are a truck supplier so they usually have the heaviest gear available (just in case you want the 120,000 lb tow strap). The don't spend a lot of money making the stores look pretty but you should be fine on the banjo front.

One thing to keep in mind is weather you want a tow strap or a recovery strap... they look almost identical but function very differently. I prefer the stretch you get in a recovery strap as I don't have the patience to ease someone out of a mud hole. Maybe that's why I'm always breaking things.

I stopped by there, big place... the recovery section was pretty limited though. Only a handful of shackles and straps in stock.

I grabbed a 35,000lb "recovery" strap... same brand as Princess Auto actually, but it was about 30$ cheaper.

No, I don't have the time and I need to test fit it first... which means the skid plate below has to come off. Once I can confirm it will fit then I can yank the whole front bumper off and send it in for a real powder coat job.

Awwwhhh, what a let down that was for me. I really need to look at ways of keeping mud out of the engine.

I made it home safe and sound, that Scangauge came in very handy... I kept watching my voltage 11.9.... 11.8.... 11.7... 11.6... 11.5... 11.4... 11.3... then I was home. I will make a trip down to Cochrane sometime this week to drop it off and then I can meet up with Brian to grab the compressor at the same time.

I also had Simon follow me to the car wash so I could clean it up a bit... 40$ later and it still looks dirty. I will spend a day cleaning it out, and probably another car wash before I schedule an appointment for Shaw. I picked up a battery charger in the meantime to breath some life back into my battery so I can keep it mobile.

How did the rest of the day go for you guys? Man, that rig Gaza has is unstoppable!! He would dip into the mud, let it sink around him and then an explosion of giant mud pieces would fly out and he would come back out... awesome!
