I will probably give you a call later on this week, I should be able to come down in the evening one day if it works for Jarret as well.

Just talking to guys on another forum; apparently 4 Hummer alternators went in a single day on one of their runs... all from splashing them with water. That pretty much fits with my problem, I ran into problems shortly after that big puddle.

Glad you made it back home safe Nick, I gotta say I'm amazed the battery lasted from Waiparous back to Calgary! I'm usually back into Cochrane 5-5:30 in the evenings so any day should be fine, thanks Nick!

Cool man, let me get my appointment(s) for the truck sorted out and I will let you know which one works for me!

The bumper might be going in for a new powder coat this week too, which means the winch and my crazy Roo-Lites will go on at the same time! I will probably look at figuring out a way to keep more water out of the engine bay while I am at it.

I have a feeling I am going to be crazy busy this week, lol

I made it back without any issues. Those zip ties would probably out last the rest of the truck if I left them.

Looking through my pictures it looks pretty clear as to where Nick got into trouble. He had a little different line through the one bog and that front drivers side really seemed to dip... the water level seems highest pretty much exactly where his alternator sits.

I love seeing the look when I pull up to one of those $5 charity car washes with my truck looking like it is.

I put some more pictures up in the Hummer Entertainment thread if you haven't seen alriady. http://forum.canadianhummersource.com/i ... 10th-2010/

Yeah that is probably the very second my alternator sparked and died, water was likely rushing onto it though the grill.

I wonder if there is a way to protect it better?
