Now - do you think it's the water? When I wash out my engine - I wash out the alternator as well and have done so quite a few times and haven't had any issues yet.... I think it's the mud. Maybe some got shot up under the hood.
I know that's what does it to me... my H3 wasn;t starting too well as it was missing the teeth when trying to engage so when I went to the carwash this morning - $10 of my $30 was spent cleaning the undercarriage as I thought I'd be taking it to shaw to.... but I must have flushed out what was causing the problem as it started fine after. I have the feeling that starter will go eventually as this is my second one and it was soon after discovering the mud pit last fall that the starter went.
Sounds like no one else has had this issue so I'll assume the H2's must be better shielded.
And no.... $30 didn;t come close to cleaning it fully... I just lost ambition as I had to get to work in the basement. Gunna grab a pressure washer to finish as carwashes are too expensive...
I'll try and paste the link for my pictures we got yesterday and I hope it works:

Thanks to everyone that came - we had a few issues but I still think we had alot of fun!!! Our game of who could get farthest up the gravel hill was a blast! Thanks Gary for beating me!!!!

Re: Spring Fling!
its not the water
but the mud for sure
i have to clean my alt. out every time or i get low volts. stereo dont help my case
and the rad, or i run a lil hot..
as well as pulley life time is a lil better when i wash it asap
i don't think my 2s shielded with anything.
i've noticed with my rig when you hit deep mud the fan sprays mud every were under the hood anyway. so ive got in the habbit to clean under the hood and the undercarriage very well, every time.
i usually spend a good 30-40 cleaning the mechanical aspects of the truck.
little expensive but i find parts last a heck of a lot longer

I'd be up for something different; but probably not until after May Long. I did a quick check and the don't open up all the trails at McLean until May 15th.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Re: Spring Fling!
Good Call on that.
What about setting the Date for May 29th? Gives us almost 7 weeks to prepare. Hopefully I will have my suspension and new rims/rubber by then....
Should we start a new topic?

I would be in for the 29th but wouldn't mind another go in between... Say last Saturday of this month or first of the next?
New guy enthusiasm... Can you blame me.....?
