Check your radiator cap as well, if the spring valve is shot it can cause overheating problems.
I used to have a overheating problem with my Jeep after playing around in the Mud too much, it didn't help that the rad was undersized to begin with.
In the end I purchased a CSF 3-row radiator and a higher flow water pump (turns out the old one was the real problem, it was somehow damaged by the mud and not performing the way it should).
After that my Jeep ran cooler and way more reliable than I could have ever dreamed... 3-row radiator all the way!

Upgraded tranny cooler is a great upgrade for any 4x4, as the heat kills the trans faster than anything... it'd be a pretty cheap mod to boot.
Plus you can get the ones with the electric fans attached which lets you mount them basically anywhere!

i think i t might be time to change my tranny cooler and rad. i swear ive spent like 40$ washing them out and the dam thing still runs hot.
what do other h2s run for trans temp?

Mine runs about 65 on average and close to 80 when pulling teh trailer.

That's a tough one.. you might want to consider adding an electric fan to the stock cooler? Don't quote me on this but 80-90 degrees actually sounds perfectly normal to me (that's 175-200F which again, as far as I know, is operating temp).

True but no load on a cold day..within an hour.
She's defiantly running warmer than usual.

When was the last time you had a fluid change? As the fluid gets old it will gradually lose the ability to lubricate which means more friction, more heat. It'd be a slow creep in temperature up over a period of time but it can definitely be an indicator of old fluid. Every 20 degree Fahrenheit increase in temp over that 175-200 mark reduces fluid life by 50% so spinning in the mud pits is gonna take its toll quicker than you think!!

Re: May 1(Alberta)
I kept an eye on mine today just so I could give an accurate number when runnign for a longer period, I was stuck in the Glenmore crash today so I was watching the temp and it went up to 79 degrees with a 75 nominal for sitting there idling for quite awhile...
So you do sound a smidgen high but not that bad... Not sure what else you can do.
I just changed all my fluids and I do know she is running alot smoother now.... may not be a bad idea but it cost me almost agrand to do it...
