About the snorkel mod....you might want to talk to PolarBear (Kevin) as he has already make a prototype of a H2 snorkel. Kevin is a certified Hummer Technician and would be an excellent resource for you to contact to trouble shoot the snorkel. I will see it at the Hummer Rally on the May 24 weekend...I'll take some pictures and tell him to post about it as well.

Hey Dave I thought I'd just add, you can also get the Airaid pre-filter for their intakes which is just a filter wrap to help keep the water out. I've talked to at least one person who uses them and they say they actually work great for keeping the water out.
Naturally they're more of a splash guard than anything, but your intake looks 90% protected as it is plus it's nice and high up so the pre-filter would probably be cheap insurance depending on what you decide to do with the snorkel. They're like $40 and money well spent I'd say! If you stick with the Airaid.
They're easy on - easy off so I guess people would probably just throw the pre-filter on when they hit the trail head, and take them off for the ride home, pretty good idea for anyone who offroads with an open filter on the intake.

I'm know NAPA could order you one as I have a friend at Cochrane NAPA who informed me so, other than that I couldn't really say, but if you brought this part number to NAPA they could hook you up. Or just order right off the Airaid site, you seem to be able to...
Airaid Pre-Filter
I looked it up and that's the very one for the intake on your H2, $39.99 USD!
