Suspension

Post by lamkai »

I have a question. I have a 2008 H2 with air suspension but the company I work for is moving and the new parking garage is only 78" tall. That is too short for it. I don't really want to lower the H2 because I like the ride height. Does anyone know where I can get variable height suspension installed? That way the H2 can be lowered to fit in the garage but then lift back up when driving.

Hmmm...good luck with that one. You might ask Kevin (Polar Bear) as he is a Hummer Tech, but a true off-road enthusiast who won't like to hear you want to lower an H2. Olishooter is also a Hummer Tech who owns Master Mechanics in Brampton. He might be able to help you, but I would imagine it would be an expensive endeavour!! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ngHead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' />

First Off if you have roof rack crossbars and don't use them to carry anything, remove them your will get almost 4" of clearance and better gas mileage as well!!

Once that is done to get the final bit, you could have your H2 leveled by bringing the rear down instead of the front up. You just have to go to the dealer and have them do a relearn of the air suspension normal ride height and you simply set it lower. This would be the cheapest and most cost effective way of doing this!!

Hope This Helps!
