Why we drive Hummers
I would like to know why other hummer owners drive own hummers and what gets our blood pressure high about them.

Re: Why we drive Hummers
I have so many reasons...I like the feeling that I can go where I want when I want, I like the security that the sizes gives me, I commute on the highway and have seen many crashes, small cars and smart cars don;t look to good after they have been smashed or wrecked and it is very seldom people walk away. I like it that people look when I drive by, yes a bit of a ego thing, but true.. some look and smile, others look in disgust but all look.. it is a marketing persons dream!
I love the comfort, I love the feel of driving up high, and the power when I hit the pedal, and I love the power and strength off road..this is a true monster machine and I love my HUMMER!

Re: Why we drive Hummers
I own a hummer b/c its an elite status. When I pull up to another 4x4 with my h3 with the agressive tires guys can't help but look. When I'm in the woods with other trucks, I know my chances are better than other trucks on the trail. When those mud munchers dig in its no contest and I then have to turn aroun and help them and when I do I look at them and comment (should have got a hummer) <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... Re: Why we drive Hummers
Well lets see people want one and I have one people off-road but I extream off-road. People fly straight, I crawl up. I like the fact that when there is a lot of traffic if there is a curve with high bumps I can go over it. I love when the road people dare not go down, I get to punch the gas. To sit in the seat of my hummer is like sitting in an military all-purpose vehicle. When you throw new tires on the truck its like my blood pressure goes up and if I don't get off-road I may pass out. Like the slogan goes HUMMER LIKE NOTHING ELSE !!!!!

Simply the best off road capable vehicle you can buy off the dealership lot. What other truck out there comes with
front and rear lockers
full time 4wd
the ability to fit 35" tires without any lift
great approach and departure angles
good ground clearance
turning radius much tighter than what you would expect
It is extremely comfortable inside, offroads like a beast yet drives on road like a cadillac.
There are other vehicles that have some of these things but no other that has them all in one package.
Also, they look cool as hell.....

Re: Why we drive Hummers
Now I know I might offend some by comparing Hummer to jeep but that is just how it is and how I feel in love with the H1...
I always had a soft spot for jeeps both their looks and functionality(Top off, Offroad Capability, etc etc). When I was around 11yrs old I was pleased to see a H1 up close in Las Vegas... Right then I knew I had to have one. Come 16 I get my license couldnt afford an H1 so I got a TJ... Had a blast with it, loved the thing but I was seriously out growing it(cant hold many passengers and if you do forget about carrying gear etc.) So I finally made the purchase of my H1 and been loving it ever since.
Nothing like the feeling of driving in the H1 nice and high not to mention wide. Also in the summer is the best drop the top and get some sun/wind. Not to mention how much fun it is to wheel.
So why do I drive my hummer?
- Its my Cruising Convertable
- Its my SUV where I can fit the whole family in and groceries, buggy, etc.
- Its my offroad toy.
- There is no feeling like driving something unique on the road where everyone from babies in buggies to seniors point and stare.
- There is no feeling like knowing if that idiot in the smart car decides to txt or put on make up etc and hits me, I know my family will still be safe.
- Its my way of reliving my youth and playing GI Joe <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
- Its was my work horse/tow rig but now I got a Cummins Ram <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Its basically everything all in one package but totally different than anything else I have drove. Especially looking out the windshield and seeing across that nice and wide hood and 2 windshields.
