the trails we are plan on taking are intermediate trails.

this meaning some spots are quite tight but for the most part most of everything difficult is avoidable.

i absolutely recommend removing side steps

Brian is not kidding about removing the steps!

While we won't be doing any trails that are going to damage your ride, we had a 3 with us last year that didn't feel it was necessary to remove his tube steps (not trying to call anybody out!) though multiple people urged it was in his best interest. He soon determined that it's much better not to run with these things while wheeling!

Hey Brian are we still going to meet any Saturday comers at Timmy's on Saturday, or just have them head out to the camp site? I can go either way and meet people in town if needed (cheap excuse to go to Timmy's), or we can just let them all know to meet us at the site.

The meet and greet last year was pretty cool having all the trucks in one lot, but it sounds like a few of us will be in place by Friday.

Anybody out there want to meet on Saturday, or do you all want to just meet at the site?

Dude!!! That hurts!!! But very true!! I had to hook a tow strap to a tree to pull the step back into shape!

I always take the steps off the Deuce now to be safe.... I played around a few times with them on around the city and have already bent them out of shape! No steps!!

I think best to meet at the camp site as I'll already be in the area and will bring extra fuel as my trailer is very very heavy and sucks back the gas fer sure! I'll be picking it up today from storage so I can start loading her up!

Man I'm looking forward to this!!!

Been a while since I checked on this thread!

I mentioned back in post #4 I have a racing event on the 17th, so I will be coming out on Sat evening to hang out.

I am probably out for any runs on the 18th... I literally just got it back after weeks upon weeks of it being in the shop. I haven't had it in my possession for more than a couple of days at a time for almost 2 months non-stop now! I really need to do some serious work to prevent anymore problems from developing on it during outings.

Now, does all this span from that hole where you red lined the rpm? (or very high based on sound) as that's what did it for the power steering pump. One thing I have witnessed (yours included) is that GM engines do not like the high rpms... I had a lumina sport once and I was playing around racing one day.... it was never the same again... eventually scrapped it..

I never really put 2 and 2 together until now.... but still may be coincidence... (Never been a GM fan.... but I LOVE my Hummer!)

Did the tech ever give you any explanation as a seasoned mechanic can usually tell things by how they break, and where etc etc...

would it be possible to get a list of what you would recommend to bring?

[/quote]

Copied this from a previous post:

Stuff You Must Bring:

-Full Size Spare

-Vehicle with 4-Low transfer case c/w 31" tires & front and back tow hooks/shackles

-Food and water for the trip (for all passengers)

-Change of cloths, extra jacket & shoes

-Full Tank of Gas

Stuff You Should also Probably Bring if you have it:

-FRS/GMRS Radio

-Sleeping Bag

-Towel

-Extra Food and Water

-Tow Straps & Shackles

-Toilet Paper, Paper Towel

-Tire Gauge

Other Stuff you can bring, although not required:

-Tire Repair Kit

-Tools (Whatever you think might be useful)

-Quick Fix Gear (Wire, Duct Tape, Shoe Laces, Zip Ties...)

-Other recovery gear (snatch blocks, Tree Savers, shovels...)

-Compressor

-Extra Fluids (Windshield, oil, gas, rad fluid...)

That sums it up pretty good - all camping gear if you are coming for the weekend of course, and extra fuel is a good idea!

It's looking like I'm going to be missing out on the camping side of things. My trailer took a broadside of 2"+ hail yesterday and is going to need a little TLC before it's road worthy again. Already this morning there's a run on replacement windows <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Could be worse though, the truck is still good to go so I'll be coming down for the day at least. So I'm at least 1 for 9am across from Tim's.
