Hey Guys,

I know Roy from CrazyCanucks 4x4 is in Ontario and all, but he does have a website you could look at and I am sure he would get the parts for you at a pretty good price AND you are supporting a CHC Sponsor. Just a thought that you might want to try it out..

LOL

So I did find some prices at GMPartsDirect.ca, more expensive than I thought actually! Here's what they quoted me:

Collision Catalog - 2008 - Hummer - H3

Steering gear and linkage, Steering gear and linkage, Outer tie rod, Outer tie rod Back - $93.40

Collision Catalog - 2008 - Hummer - H3

Steering gear and linkage, Steering gear and linkage, Inner tie rod, Inner tie rod Back - $85.80

Collision Catalog - 2008 - Hummer - H3

Steering gear and linkage, Steering gear and linkage, Boot kit, Boot kit - $62.32

One of each: $241.52

And there was no listing for a CV unfortunately but I can only imagine... Ballpark it at $400+... Plus the boots... maybe $500? Still gonna get to Crappy Tire just for the heck of it.

EDIT: Nothing at Crappy Tire either!

I think worse case senario and one of us blows out a CV we can remove the CV and at least limp or tow it out. Even if we blow a diff we can yank the shaft and still have 2 working wheels.

The big things to focus on is anything that is critical to steering or rolling.

Inner and outter tie rods for sure, extra nuts and bolts, maybe also the steering rack?

Also is it possible that we could damage a wheel bearing badly enough that it would render the vehicle un-towable?

Ok, we should get cracking on this kit before the August run, this is what I have so far... maybe some of it is overkill and I could be missing other things. I have a small first aid kit I usually bring, but we could look into getting a more compreshensive one too.

I threw some prices in just for a baseline, just grabbed prices to the nearest 5 off of Princess Auto's website and Canadian Tire. The spare parts are probably not accurate at all.

I have TWO of those... they are wicked! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... rgreen.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I picked up one (which was a kit with jumper cables and a compressor) and then I saw a stand alone version of it on sale at CT for 25$... how could I pass it up!

I use them to change my tires... which is almost a bi-weekly thing with my autocross events, 3 years later and it still works like a charm!

haha, last time I went out with the Beyond group I used one... they actually video taped me using it because they thought it was so slick!

Hmm sooo... Apparently deal is cost +10% and it's roughly the same price as what I posted before from GMPartsDirect.ca. Nothing is in stock in Calgary, everything 7-10 days from the States!

Price on the replacement CV is about $660! Damn!! I still want the spare tie rods but the CV is just too much to have with 'in case' I'm thinking..
