Cellphone And Your Truck

Post by dwaxman1 »

Ok, lots of chatter in the update section on Phones...

What do you guys Have/like and what kinda cool setup do you have in the truck?? I know that in Ontario, Quebec and I believe in New York that it is illegal to talk on the phone or text or whatever else while driving, you are suppose to use a headset or some sort of Bluetooth this or that.. What you got to make it "legal"

I have a Blackberry 9700 and in both my H2 and H1 I have got a ProClip mount and Holder install, these are installed using factory screws and locations that will not cause you to make new holes. also usually in a location that is not in the way of any of the instruments an a great location for the driver to see it. I use this instead of the "clip on" vent ones as I find them more secure and they do not break off or fall off when off roading..

here are my setups..

H2, with my older World Blackberry showing..

Hey D, the first interior shot of the H1 that I have seen and she looks pretty good...Did you need to do alot of cleaning before you took pics or what was the holdup on the interior pictures??? Nice set up for the phone...how's about having Ma Bell design a Hummer Version of a phone (Blackberry would do) at a serious discount for CHC Members?<img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='???' />?

oops.. I actually don;t have any interior photos of my H1 yet.. I have been doing a lot of work on it.. lots of cleaning..but I will take a few shots for you!

now back to Cell phone...

We have Bluetooth integrated into the stereo and it uses the speakers and there is a small mic on my dash, it works great and no one can tell I am in my truck driving when we talk, great noise canceling..this is in the H1..in the H2 we have a Bluetooth module, a Motorola Motorokr T505, it works great with the FM transmitter, we also have one of these in the car.

The Mounting bracket is about $50 and the holder is another $30 or $40 I think, well worth it I think!

if you need one, let me know, I will order them in here at the office and get a firm price, the more we get, the cheaper I am sure the supplier would do.

The bracket is truck and year specific, the H1 one would not fit in the H2, there are different. and the Holder is device specific.. if you tell me what phone you have and what model number, I can price out the holder for you.

the brackets are all around $50 but again they are truck specific.

My truck has a built in sat. phone (with local phone number)... everything is hands free and a mic is right above the driver. Although voice recognition sucks for dialing, lol. It is a pay-as-you go type of phone plan... although anytime I talk to onstar they give me like 100 free minutes.

It also has blue-tooth integration with my Cell... as long as blue tooth is on it automatically pairs it in the truck and operates on voice recognition. I don't really have to worry about mounting it or plugging it in anywhere.
