Anyway, that aside the trip went well up to that point.

I got in touch with my Great Uncle, he is 78... he didn't even know I existed, lol. I had coffee with him and his wife and chatted for a few hours, he is a pretty funny guy. He took me out to his back yard where he builds all sorts of stuff out of scrap, he had some crazy portable winch he built out of a snow mobile and scrap steel, go karts, crazy sawmill sized table saws among other things.

After that I was able to track down my uncle in Needles, he has kind of been missing for a long time. He has MS which he has been dealing with for a while. It is getting kind of bad, he has almost lost the use of his legs now, but you never see him without a smile and he never complains. He took out out fishing on his boat for the day, I got to meet his two kids as well.

After that I met up with my cousin in Edgewood, he has gotten married and had two kids since I last saw him (again like 20 years ago). We did a day trip into the mountains in an alpine area called Grizzly Gully... you would not believe how many Deer and Grizzlies are in there, I felt like I was in a zoo or something! Great views from the top too!

Some good news, I did find my Granny's old place. The new owners even invited us in to have a look... gave me goose bumps! I found out that that survey equipment made it's way to the railway museum in Revelstoke. I didn't get a chance to stop there (can thank that useless POS truck for that) but I want to swing by on my way to pick the truck next week.

Anyway, was fun... found all sorts of faimily I haven't talked to since I was just a wee kid.

This stuff sat in my granny's cellar for many years!

Officially the bearings within the tensioner pulley seized at high speed... this lead to the pulley actually dislodging and destroying itself and wedged itself firmly between the lower part of the arm and the block. This of course pinched the belt... leading to massive amounts of smoke blowing into the cab.

Was a good trip, I really should post a few of the scenic pictures I took when I get a chance.

Glad to hear that you had a good time - those items look incredible as I love antiques and would have loved to have gotten my hands on some! Especially awesome knowing that it was part of your family's hertitage!

How's the truck running?
