My Friend Gino has been goading me for a year insisting that his chipped out Ram would outpull the H2. On the second time we went tail to tail; guess when I took my foot off the break and gave it some gas... pow!

I figured you guys would like this <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' />

I was sure I was going to take him. I went into a truck and tractor pull with the H2 and so did he. I had to run in a heavier class. Well not only did I beat everyone from his class I also won my class! I think I have already posted that video, but if not I can re-post.

A lot of this could be tires. The Dodge comes with Good Year Wrangler HP. Absolute crap on wet surfaces. So to do a true competition you must both have the same level of traction on your tires. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Don't get me wrong tires are important, but in this case it is not why he lost. He has great tires, they are winters (soft rubber with lots of seeping) and they are also studded (you can see the sparks). In my case, my tires are BF's and are worn, not to mention I have ripped the treads of some of them (from truck and tractor pulls).

The main factor is weight. My H2 is over 2500 lbs heavier (I have a lot of gear in the back including a heavy set of tire chains), plus I can lock my rear diff. Also the H2 is geared lower then the Ram (4.10) in rear.

With the extra weight I have, he did not have a chance. He has got the Hemi with over 400 torque and 390 HP stock (he is not stock and has a fair bit more then that). In terms of power he has got me easily beat. But it comes down to connecting and the H2 is great at that with its heavy weight and rear locker with low gear ratio.

Unfortunately, this ram truck has a 2 inch suspension lift and a two inch body lift. It looks great (he has 35 inch Baja claws in the summer), but it also increases the angle that the front trans-axel has too bend . This puts more pressure on the CV joint (which exploded). This happens a lot with lifted trucks that do not have solid front axels.

But some times there is no way to settle someone’s trash talk other then putting the rubber to the road and doing it. These tail to tail pulls almost always end up with one broken truck.

I can't remember if I have posted this, but here is my Hummer in the truck and tractor pull. I had never seen one of these before, but I showed up and thought that I would give it a go.

Before I came out for my pull, the announcer was describing the H2 as basically a Tahoe with big tires. I had to run in the 3/4 tonne and up class. The sled is 40,000 lbs and as the weight moves forward the drag increases.

I ended up winning the pull. Lots of fun, I am planning on building a different truck to be used for tractor pulls.
