CUMMINS CONVERSION H1
I have a 1995 H1 wagon has the 5.7 litre gas in it YUKKK !!
decided to stick with the original trans and transfer case to keep it relatively simple
had the stock 4l80e built by patc out of the states
had a custom torque converter made its a stock 6.5 diesel beefed up with lower stall for the cummins
bougth a adapter plate and flexplate to mate the cummins from destroked.com
have a compushift standalone controller for the tranny this in return eliminates all computers in the truck and simplifies all electrical by far
2 inch body lift from rubberduck
the cummins engine i built myself
had the head oringed
upgraded compressor for the turbo
75 hp injectors
cranked the starwheel installed upgraded fuel pin for environmental purposes LOL !!
ac had to be eliminated reconfigured the belt routing
had to get a rear mounted turbo exhaust manifold
the engine tranny drivetrain are all installed
had custom intercooler made by cx racing.com
used all original sending units temp . oil pressure , battery volts , and installed on cummins added egt and boost
fuel system was easy
since the 12valve cummins has mechanical lift pump had to open gas tank get rid of the fuel pump and fab up a stand pipe
keeping the original sending unit for the fuel gauge
may add a fass fuel system
going to use the original rad had to be raised 2 1/2 inches and trimmed to clear the engine
dual electric fans are going to work great can be purchased at napa
the power steering can be reused on the cummins you have cap off the vaccum pump wont be needed on a hummer
set up the grid heater since cummins has no glow plugs on a push button to a ford starter relay
going to be posting more pics as i go
I decided to go this route because of the reliability of the old school cummins
in the end i will have a truck with one computer the size of my hand which is waterproof
stock the cummins are 200hp 400ft of torque now its 325hp 600 ft toque which is plenty
easy to work on mainly keeping all electrical stock and not reworking the dash or appearance of the interior
if anyone has any input or would like to visit pls dont hesitate good bunch in this site
hope to meet more members in the future

Not to take over your Cummins forum, but when you were helping you buddy, do you remember if he had a hard time putting a bigger drive shaft on it? I'm just a little afraid that the big 5" one that i'm about to get cut down will have conflict with the fuel tank. I guess it would be the same with yours?
On another note, now that your putting a diesel in her, you should get way better MPG and should consider a trip east this summer for the atlantic hummer gathering that I'm working on.

If you cap off the vac pump, what is going to run the controls for the heater?<img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='???' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ngHead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ngHead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' />
