So I guess it comes down to catch 22 as always.... In order to be as optimal performance - you need a custom rig!

So it comes down to making your rig as capable as possible being that it is your everyday ride...

Wider is better, really really low pressure helps immensely as long as you can pump back up again before the trip home, and siping is very important as well. So I think I'll keep an eye out for a siping tool and see how much they are. I would love 3 grooves cut into each lug, winter traction should be double what I have now...

not only that Dave but one article I read said the guy cut 10lbs off his tires ..not much but every little bit helps with our heavy rigs lol

looks pretty easy with that tool ..

Yeah, couldn't help but feel a little gitty - went down to bearspaw dam and played in the snow a bit. I have to admit - the KM2's are pretty good in fresh snow..... just not the best when it gets a little packed.

So gunna make some calls on Monday and see if I can find a groover locally, if not I have one picked out off ebay that I will order so if anyone wants to use it afterwards - more than welcome.... no point ordering one yourselves as how often are we going to use it?

Got an update on the conditions out there this weekend; about 2 feet of snow everywhere with hidden drifts that can easily get past your waist. They tried to mess around in the gravel pit, but looks like they got about 20 feet in before they would get stuck.

Good news is that the trails are mostly passable. The group that went out headed towards the falls, but turned back once they reached that big uphill just past the rock bluffs.... apparently it was a giant slid backwards taboggan fest.
