It aught to be a blast! We'll take it slow and make Jared our honorary "Karl" LOl...

Only thing that makes me a bit nervous is that I noticed yesterday when I got stuck in the snow is that the top was slushy but it caused the water to drain down and made a very nice sheet of ice under the snow.... that was the reason I was going no where... So I see why 4X4ers like it when it's still a bit below zero as you ride on top of the snow instead through it to that ice layer....

If money comes in though.... bumper and winch this summer as the added safety will make me feel better...especially with 17.5k ... That should lift me off the ground!!!

I've never been on that section before so if there are any major concerns about hidden obstacles then definitely we'll play it safe! Head to the gravel pit as per usual and head out from there! Personally I think we should play it by year in the morning just judging by the amount of snow that is still on the ground, but if there are any reservations then absolutely we'll play it safe.

Remember 9am across from Timmy's !! Talk to everyone in the morning!!

Exactly - I'm amazed how much snow melted away today so aught to be interesting to see what we find out there... Heavy wet snow is hard to plow through but not impossible!

We'll talk in the morning and maybe meet at the Ranger Station as no point driving past it if that's where the trail starts I'll have to remember to throw a chair in the Hummer for Lunch time as it will be wet out there I'm sure.. I'll bring a couple firelogs to stay warm with too...

Good call on the chair!

The new Amsoil has made a huge difference in my shifting since I got it in this week, thing went from being notchy and hard to engage to butter smooth... very remarkable! Truck is running wicked right now, I am stoked for this trip!

I have everything all packed up; plus a little winter wear so I can get out and have some fun! Who is bringing a tube or toboggan?

Sadly Simon had to bail on me, he has to work tomorrow.

I wonder how much snow is out there with these warmer temps, hopefully not too much flash melting has gone on out there or the creeks and rivers might be swollen.

Overall a great day! Didn't make it too far as the snow was quite deep, also about half way through the day the snow started coming down pretty heavily and brought the wind with it as well... so it was a little chilly but had a blast! Rick from Emortal Customs was with the group with his monster Jeep which was quite a sight to see! He had a huge lift, huge tires, supercharged... Thing was a monster in every sense!!

Then at the end of the day a few things went wrong... Gary was having troubles with a wheel bearing that had created quite a bit of play in his front tire so he headed back to town ahead of the group. Not sure how he is making out at this point though.. And my transfer case kicked the bucket!! Nick noticed some clicking and clunking and that I was running 2 wheel drive with only the back tires spinning... Otherwise it was running great though and once I got moving it was smooth and silent and for a minute I thought nothing was wrong! Hit the road home and got about 1/3 of the way back to Cochrane when it started grinding and banging and I lost all power to wheels... B-man pulled me to the highway for a tow truck and now the H3 is at the shop waiting to get in tomorrow morning!

So Hummer-less for a few days... the garage looks so empty!!!!
