No, its a sealed unit.

yea, I see how its sealed, but the wiring to the solenoid pack is no different than any other 3 wire motor. It would be simple to switch it to the old style 4 solenoids if you wanted to save a few bucks and make it more accessible to repair it. (but that is if you were just lookin for cheap and simple)

Hi Tom,

My T-Max actually used a lithium based grease in the gear housing so I used

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/glc.aspx

It made such a huge difference! Freespooling is super easy now and the winch pull better and a tad faster!

I saw a post where you are asking about where to buy a Mile Marker. This is the best price I have seen so far www.winchesplus.com and http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mile-Mar ... ccessories for the mounting plate.

These plates have to be modified to fit a 12000# hydraulic winch. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ngHead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' />

Electric seems to fit and tight!

Winch plus only sells hydraulic <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

Found it best to check winch atleast every few months once every oil change is good that way you don't forget and many garages allow you to do it in the warm and dry. check in out and free spool. You never know when you'll want it. P.S. This should be posted in all forums as many H2's and H3's carry winches.

Actually.. Yes they do. Gears are just as sealed as the Warn units, and the solenoid valve is extremely susceptible to water/corrosion, which is why it is so important to mount these high and under the hood.
