TPM and Sensors

Post by SADA »

Hi guys. I changed my rims and tires on my 2008 H3 and the guy in the garage didn't transferred the TPM ( tire pressur monitor)

and sensors from the old one to the new one. He said didn't know that H3 has them. Now everytime I start up the truck the warning light for low tire pressure and TPM SERVICE stays on. How can I get rid off this problem without spending 300 $ on sensors ?

Thank you.

EBAY sensors...29.00/39.00 each....

I have same issue as new tires/rims came balanced and ready for install

I just hit gage button and it goes away..wait for next tire rotation and will add the sensors

I would be looking for the shop to replace the TPM sensors for you. Do you have your old wheels / tires? Did they trash them?

Yes I still have them and the sensors are still in the tires.

On H3's you must have the tpm sensors or the truck will signal that you have a problem. Good idea is to buy new sensors and have them installed and programed into the computer when changing ( replacing tires ) this means sensors are "new" and shouldn't fail till tires do. saves on dismounting and re mounting charges on tires. We had one sensor fail fortunately it was while truck was still under new waranty.

As well if changing back and forth ( snows /non snows) mark tires as to position on removal. this assists if tpm codes.

Sensors are about $60 each, I'd reuse them and replace as required.

To each their own though.
