Approached to have truck in a Movie or TV show

Post by dwaxman1 »

Just wondering how many of our members have been approached to have their trucks in Movies, TV shows or commercials, or Print ads?

If you have, how was the experience?

If you haven't, would you entertain the idea and do it, let your truck become a star?

No comments on this one?? WOW... I am surprised...if you were approached, you wouldn't make your truck a star?? There are HUMMERs all over the movie, tvs, and videos every where you look, yours could be next!

Ive only had my truck for the better part of a year, but have never been approached. Id have hesitations in doing so, unless I could be on set to supervise, and be compensated accordingly.

Would be kind of an honor though!

usually you can be on set, you also need to make sure they are insured and that in the contract it sates that they return it back to you EXACTLY as it was when they borrowed it.

there is a guy out here in Vancouver that specializes in matching up cars to movies.

He has a website www.reelcars.net

you register your car with him, and the movies go to him to find cars and he sets up the meet and greet sorta thing.

I know a few people out here that have had there cars used for back drops and stuff in movies.

I must admit that I have never had the pleasure of a request - I would be all up for it!

I'll check out that site later and maybe register my baby as there are quite a few movies that filmed in Calgary and surrounding areas as they come up from California. Exit wounds is a good example. Legends of the fall is another.. Usually most are westerns though like Unforgiven so a Hummer in the backdrop would take away from the movie I think...<img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... oflmao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rotflmao:' />

When I worked at Arctic Spas head office and manufacturing plant a few years ago, they used my H2 to demonstrate the strength of the hulls used in their spas by having four upside-down at the loading dock and driving the H2 onto them. I am not sure why, but that marketing material only went to our UK and Australian retailers.
