HVAC Issue

Post by SELWA »

Well I have a coolant leak on the passenger side. Started to remove some parts and the box is a nightmare. It's been fibreglassed and patched together from the previous owner.<DIV> </DIV><DIV>I'd like to to the work myself but not sure if I'm over my head. Does anyone have a 95 plastic assembly handy??</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Thanks,</DIV><DIV>Joe</DIV><DIV> </DIV>

I removed the unit and hooked up the heater hoses together so my rear aux heater still works. The 2nd part of the HVAC box was even worse!!<DIV> </DIV><DIV>Not sure which route to go right now. I patched up the holes so I can drive it and figure out what to do.</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Any thoughts?? </DIV>

The only thing you can do is do the upgrade to the new 98 system. You can get it from the dealer or from <a href="http://www.kascar.com" target="_blank">www.kascar.com</A> it will run you about $2500.00 and you will be able to install it yourself, you'll just need an A/c shop to refill your system afterwards. The old one that you now have is JUNK and it is NOT REPAIRABLE...you will be very pleased with the new system, I have installed a couple and boy they sure make a difference, the best part is, should anything break again in the future...it is now completely accessable and rebuildable!! <DIV> </DIV><DIV>Happy Trails!</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Kevin</DIV>

Good News!!! You already have the updated HVAC assembly, so that means any and every part is available thru 1 of 3 places, Dealer, Kascar and local auto parts store. If it is only the evaporator assembly and heater core assemblies..try your local auto parts...they can send it out to be rebuilt or just maybe they should be able to get ahold of it new. All the auto parts store have a listing for Hummer H1 parts...most just don't realize it!<DIV> </DIV><DIV> </DIV>

I may be able to get this unit from a guy in the States who races. They took this out to save weight. I wanted to make sure THE upgrade to get. Not sure how much they want and how much shipping is.

Kascar sells it for $1500.00 US for a brand new one so hopefully you can get it cheaper than that from those race guys!
