Ok first off I know it is illegal in Canada to do.....but for cold starts in -50 ish weather I need every amp available to turn this beast over!...I have a 99 H1 originally from the US. I read somewhere that in 98 Am General started to install DRL on H1's is that correct? and if so how do I find the module and how do I disable it?
I have read other forums but they are all on installing a DRL Module on H1's to get them into Canada....I want to know how to eliminate them!
Also does anyone know the bulb size for the rearview mirror map lights or how to replace them? Lastly does anyone know where to get replacements for burnt out interior foot well lights the ones similiar to the clearence lights?

Grote Perlux makes a replacement LED light for our interior lights under the dash and by the foot wells in the rear.

As for the DRL's chances are you didnt have them originally, as my '01 didnt come with them, but required them to be installed for the truck to pass the RIV inspection & provincial safety. If you want to disable them, chances are they added a relay, and ran a wire to one of your headlights. You can pull the relay, not that I advise you to, which would disable them. Any decent stereo or remote start install shop should be able to tackle this if you arent able to find the wiring or relay.

I have heard
there is a DRL box on the bottom left of the drivers side, to the left of the fuse box under the steering column, maybe you can "remove" it from there...
