Painting interior Trim pieces

Okay, Canadian Tire by my office is now out of Paint need to find more..Also figured out how to remove the Seats easily, I guess that is what the service manual is for...



gonna work on this off an on all this weekend and then big time this weekend.. hope to have it all done for May 7th event. will post daily photos of work I get done, no rain please!!!

And so it continues....





I decided I would paint the bottom plastic pieces black and decided to start on the passenger side, here are some shots of what has transpired, the seat bolts btw are a huge pain in the arse, mine were stripped and rusted like crazy, and what a mess!

and more...remember I took all pieces out, washed them all with soap and water, then sanded them all with 200grit paper, then washed them again, the used some degreaser/dewax and then primed two coats and painted two coats...



The setup up and prep work is the biggest and truly most important, I know this because i screwed one piece up by hurrying and not making sure it was clean enough but that saga will be told later.



Remember all the plastic pieces were Grey, stained and so dirty that they could not come clean... so...

and the finished product installed...remember I am still painting the doghouse and aux heater cover, as well as door panels, I think that will be today's adventure if the sun comes out!

So far, like I said, my biggest issue was removing the front seat, it always"rocked" a little and it was missing spacers and the front to floor mount bolts were stripped, thanks to Steve at Master Mechanic, I drove down to his shop and a little cut of the saw and some heat from a torch, the bolts are removed and news one are bought at Bolts+..



Also when you put the seat back in, remember how it goes back together as I put mine together wrong three times.. then I got it!!!



anyways I am very happy with the results, much cleaner and a nicer look...now I will finish the passenger side and then on to the drivers side...

Okay Rain sucks.. started to paint and did a lot of prep work...the last photo is the finished product

ordered a replacement for this..thanks Dave (Hummerpartsguy)! Since I am gonna paint it, I ordered a Tan one, it is a third the cost of the gray

Finished Rear Passenger RH door, also replaced all the screws with stainless self tapping bolts, they look much better and won't rust.
