Halfshaft Storage

Post by vhukasa »

I remember reading about someone who was going to try making or had made a storage case out of pvc pipe to store a halfshaft but I can't find that thread or post (after using the search feature and reading old posts for about an hour). Am I going crazy and dreamt about this? If someone has done this, could you share some details about the right size tube, etc. Thanks! Any other halfshaft trail storage ideas would also be appreciated.

I just have them laid down in foam in my toolbox. There is a guy on the hummer network that sells foam cases with cutouts for all three halfshafts pretty expensive @ $300 a case if i recall correctly.

When you store halfshafta, the hub ends are exposed and will rust and pit. To prevent this, purchase a product called boeingshield. Its a spray on wax that is designed to prevent storage corrosion of airplane parts. Works fantastic.
