you will need to rewire that into the replacement light, where do you plan on mounting your license plate?

I just did this last month ...

Un bolting everything is pretty straight forward.... I this cut the power wire for the light and pushed it back thru the grommet in the bummer then I ran the wire which already has a rubber coating on it.. up to the top of the hatch on the outside i cut a small hole into the grommet at the top and poked the wire thru and I sealed it back up with a silicone (rtv whatever you want that will work ) this is as wire as the wire will reach I then added the same guage wire on about 5-6 feet ... the hatch door panel come off really easy .. I drilled a small hole where the plate late is and bought a led light from walmart which had 3m double sided tape on it ... ran the wire thru the hatch wired it up sealed the hole for the light screwed the plate into the plastic and done ... after I sold the tire/rim and carrier i was UP $290 bucks ... FYi if you go to sell the carrier post it for $400 or so ... I had mine at $300 and had people from florida wanting it

cool because I had swapped out that section on my truck, too much chrome on my factory piece, and I put in the all black cover from a rear tire carrier mounted one. with out lights I used a couple of small one LED bulb lights to brighten it a bit but I like your set up better, well done!!
