Engine issues.......PLEASE HELP!

Post by H2Toy »

My H2 only has 90,000 km on the engine and it blows blue out the exhaust??? I was told its a common issue with the 6.0 ltr engines and its the valves and valve guides? Was told i need to get my valves machined and new valve guides??? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME ANY OTHER ADVICE ON WHAT IT MIGHT BE (before i spend $2400 to have it done) OR IF SOMEONE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND WHAT CURE WAS???

Thanx my friends and play/ride safe <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Do you get the blue puff on startup, or is it always blowing smoke?

I wouldn't necessarily be rebuilding heads as a first thing to try... especially on a low KM motor but I guess it all depends how severe the problem is.

Try sending a PM directly to Polar Bear (Kevin) with a full description of the symptoms and what you have tried and been told it might be....he is a Hummer Tech and pretty good at diagnosing a problem with a good description and some pointed questions....

if the smoke is at start-up i am thinking it is valve seals. we encountered small amounts of problems at the dealer with H2 6.0L engines but the other v8 engines in the GM family do have smoke on start-up and it was the valve seals. I myself have done a few but also the oil level was greater effected as well. It would be wise to check the oil level and exactly pin point when the smoke is noted. i would be happy to provide any info needed or if nessary have a look at the truck. either way i am happy to help. cheers
