Hi, I need some opinion in regards to purchasing a Canadian H2 or purchase the H2 from the States and importing it to Toronto.
Is it better to buy a Canadian H2 ? or is there any problem buying a US H2 ?
The reason that I am thinking about a US H2 is because if you can find one, from let say California, then the h2 was not subjected to harsh winter condition.
A Canadian h2 for sure it has been driven on salted roads, and in the future if you get rust, is it really expensive to repair it ?
Any thoughts ?
Thanks

either option is okay. I have seen many trucks from the states and you are right they have not yet been subjected to salt and snow. The key with either option is to have the trucks inspected by a shop before any purchase is made. If you decide with an american truck and it is still under warranty the dealer may request you to change the speedo over to km/h. Not a big deal but it takes two days to get this done. any other questions i am happy to help. cheers

I have bought 2 Hummers both originating in the US and imported to Canada, nothing wrong with them at all! My first Hummer the speedo was switched over to KPH and my current H2 is still in MPH, it's not a big deal to get it changed over to KPH so don't worry about that at all.
There are a few minor differences, some of the labels on the dash differ from US to Canada but overall your average Joe would never know the difference! The other thing you get is a RIV sticker on the door showing the vehicle was legally imported, otherwise if you can find a nice clean, rust free Hummer from the States I'd say go for it!
Some light frame rust is normal but body rust on any painted panel is not good... how much it costs to fix depends on so many variables it's impossible to say!! Just do yourself a favor and but a rust free vehicle... you will thank yourself...

If you live in the East - I would definitely recommend getting it from the States and then make sure you get all the coatings on it when you get it home. I was born in the East and still have Family in the Ottawa/Nepean area as well as the maritimes and the salt is total destructiveness!
Sounds awful but I would never buy a vehicle out of the East for that reason alone! My Brother is in the forces and was transferred from Calgary back to Gagetown and of course took his vehicle with him. Not protected of course being from the west and 2 years later it was a rust bucket, and he had to get rid of it.
Aside from that - all three of my Hummers were from the States as at the end of the day - YOU SAVE MONEY!

mines from the states cant tell my speedo is in MPH but the numbers are large for kph so my eyes have already changed themseves to read the kph
