i have never replaced upper control arm bushings on an H2. if the bushings are cracking a little thats ok. i am a little worried because unless damage has occured from off-roading or and accident i done see the need to replace those bushings. What is the concern first, is there some noise or clunk or was it spotted at the shop after it was on the hoist. let me know thanks

i took my H2 to the shop and he informed me that my bushings on my upper control arm are shot..sometimes when the wheel is turned and you give it gas...you can hear a clunking..we jacked up one tire and put a bar under the tire and once we lifted..the whole upper control would move..i got new bushings for it and gonna see if that will help it or not...Hopefully its nothing else...Just replaced both wheel bearings on it a few weeks ago..

Second opinion from a trusted Mechanic is always best, every guy on the forum has a Regular Mechanic and most have a Second one, even if it is their buddy, who validates the big stuff, also alot of queries and questions get asked on here about stuff just like this.. we have a lot of great guys in the club to helps, just like Steve above.. well done boys and good luck in getting that issues resolved..

normally when you turn and you hear a load clunk it is the cross member under the front diff. I have had great success in removing these four bolts (two at a time so the cross member doesnt fallor move too much) and cleaning the rust off the and coat them in lots of wheel greese and tighten the hell out of it. This solves that cracking noise. I dont doubt the mechanic inspecting the truck i just havent seen that repair done yet whether it be here at my shop or at the dealer. cheers
