Battery keeps dying overnight

Post by wankeled »

Here's a great post that saved me A LOT of headache that I would like to bring over to this forum.

If you are not using the Onstar system, there is significant drain on the battery killing it within hours. The fix is to pull the fuse. I got my Hummer cheaper because it had "battery problems" woo hoo, plus 3 entries in carfax where they swapped the battery out for a new one...

Here it is:

"...the solution is to remove the onstar fuse from the fuse box. Onstar drains the battery while the vehicle is turned off, try that, I guarantee you it will work. I had that problem for 1 year and a half, and a friend who also had that problem found that out, told me, I tried it, and it worked like a charm. The fuse you need to remove is the one highlighted in this image:"

Must be something else also draining the battery, a short, or a lite on a bad ground or something.. Onstar doesnt suck that kind of juce from the battery. had onstar since 2006 in my H3 and left the vehicule up to a month in airport parking lot and came back turned the key and up I went ( no dead battery ) the fuse in question must be supplying some other system and by removing the fuse, that system is now off,, but I wouldnt blame it on the OnStar only.
