H1
Hey guys, I've been looking to get an H1. I currently own a Jeep, but am looking to move on to bigger and better things. When I bought the jeep I failed to research the subject prior and had to change the vehicle 6 months after. So I just want to learn and read up on them before buying one. Any tips on where to start.<DIV> </DIV><DIV>Marc</DIV>

<P>Hi Marc,</P><P> I just bought a 1998 4dr pick-up. I did alot of research and found this to be the ideal year. I would say it depends on what you want to do with the truck and budget. Here is a link to a very useful wedsite <a href="http://flashoffroad.com/features/buying ... gUsed.html" target="_blank">http://flashoffroad.com/features/buying ... ed.html</A> If you go to the forum on this website you will see that someone bought one of these trucks not to long ago with-out doing proper research, he is now looking for another truck. If you read these treads you might also be able to learn alot. </P><DIV></DIV><a href="http://flashoffroad.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=800" target="_blank">http://flashoffroad.com/phpBB2/viewtopi ... /A><DIV><a href="http://flashoffroad.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=834" target="_blank">http://flashoffroad.com/phpBB2/viewtopi ... </DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Here is another link to look at</DIV><DIV><a href="http://4wheeldrive.about.com/gi/dynamic ... index.html" target="_blank">http://4wheeldrive.about.com/gi/dynamic ... </DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>If you have any questions just ask, the hummer group of people are great.</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Good Luck!

Re: H1
What do you want to use the truck for? Daily driver or week end activities?<DIV> </DIV><DIV>The end use has some bearing on whcih variant and year you might want to get. The 92-93 and hmmwv's are dead reliabile but slow and noisey. They would be difficult ot drive every day. The later year trucks are like luxury cars in comparison but at the expense of complexity and cost.</DIV><DIV> </DIV>

Re: H1
this is true. i bought mine from atlanta where it is much warmer. crossed the boarder and the h1 got its first taste of winter this year(a very cold one). and i have had nothing but proplems. i am now into it for $10 000 on top of what i paid. probably my falt for takeing it to a dealership in town and not southgate in edmonton. the truck is finally starting to come around. just some small wirering problems left to take care of. all in all its all worth while when people almost hit the ditch trying to get another look as you pass them!
<DIV> </DIV><DIV>Dadshumm, if you need help with the wiring give me a call, I've got a couple buddies that are mechanics, one a 6.5 specialist, and loves working on the Hummers, and I also have a budy who is a wiring specialist. We are in Edmonton and area.</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Ciao</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Tyler</DIV>
