Ok first off its Flowmaster FTW for me ....
So I was underneath the truck looking at the exhaust my idea was to do just a simple weld in muffler ( dual in dual out just dumped)
My question is is there a resonator and muffler together of can I just cut out and weld in .. What did you guys do

Re: Exhaust Ideas
On mine I just got a basic Magnaflow kit, it's got a nice deep tone but not too aggressive. I like the sound but I'd call it pretty mellow for sure. My kit is the one with the dual in - dual out and X-pipe which was the more expensive of the two kits Magnaflow has for sale, overall I like the kit though.
I know Khamul and Brian has custom setups on their trucks, Brian has (I think) Flowmaster muffler and dumped underneath the truck, plus the cats cut out. Truck sounds real good!! Much more aggressive sound than mine but might be a bit loud for some people. Khamul has (again, I think...) high flow cats and Magnaflow mufflers welded in. A mellower sound than Brian's but more aggressive than mine for sure. Exhaust is fun... just depends what you want for tone!!
I'd say if you cut the cats and went with a dumped Flowmaster 40 you'd be sounding pretty bad ass.... Or go with something like an off the shelf Magnaflow kit to keep the volume down a bit!! My Mustang howls louder than 99% of anything out there so I thought I'd go the other way with the Hummer and keep this one quieter... Love both sounds though just for different reasons!!

Re: Exhaust Ideas
I think it also depends on your engine...
I had the flowmaster on my H2 and I did not like the sound at all - very high pitched and had a very "tinny" sound to it. I have the 6.2 and B-Man has the 6.0 and he has the one I took off mine (Still brand new), and on his it sounds awesome with a completely different sound. Still can't figure that one out.
Right now I have performance cats in with the twin pipes going to the stock single leading to a magnaflow mufler. When I have the money I do plan on doing a true twin by cutting out the joining flange and install actual twin pipes going to twin magnaflows... I did try removing the cats altogether but man - I live in Calgary and you could hear me in Cochrane next town over... Had to put the performance cats in...
I still find mine a wee bit loud... At times I love it.... but then I remember how old I am so I would like to tone it down a bit with the true twin, maybe an extra horse out of a true twin as well.
