Post by Darcy »

This 1987 humvee belongs to a gentleman in kitchener i recently took on this project to do a cummins swap exept this time its a 24 valve cummins with a built dodge tranny and cast iron transfer case with 2wd and 4wd option

she is stripped to the frame and needs all the suspension and halfshsfts replaced

the truck is currently 24v but will be rewiring everything to 12v

will post pics as i go on this swap as well

Mind if I ask what you charge for a Cummins swap? What tranny do you put behind it? Do you provide the motor, trans and tc?

Cant wait to see it, love the HMMWV's

I have a thread of the white one i built last winter if you want to check out under the h1 section

as for price it can vary if you want to put a used engine or new or how much of the drivetrain you want to rebuild

my last one was 10k in parts alone using the 4l80e tranny but all upgraded billet components as well as tc

im going to be using dodges 47 re tranny with billet tc ive done a duramax swap this will be my second cummins

havent really came up with a figure cause every truck has needed different extent of repair with ripped apart

you can bet a good 10k to 15k for a swap if done rigtht !!!

heres a few updated shots on the humvee 24 valve build

-fabricated some custom mounts again but stronger than mine lol !! using the stock hummer engine mounts for future if ever needing to be replaced

-and I did make extras for future swaps <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

-so I have a built 2003 24 valve cummins transmission is the 47 re billet torque converter and inside components all upgraded as well

-1 ton transfer case with selectable 2wd and 4wd

-had to get rear driveshaft shortened and front driveshaft made longer hanger bearing was lowered half inch for clearance issues

-have pics of the left and rigth mount

-turbo has arrived but waiting on adapter going with a T4 HX 40 turbo with wastegate and will be 5 inch exhaust turbo back

-more pics to come as build goes on
