I'd like to know this too actually.

While on the subject, does anyone know anything about these electronic rust inhibitors that are on the market. I'm wondering if they work well, or even at all.

electric module is a small gimmic which is not 100% accurate - it has a great idea about the current being on the body panels etc however there is a dilemma about that. as you may know that the trailer light connector on the back has power and it actually does in many cases leak the current to the body - but i can see still rust underneath the truck on fresh scratches etc so all idea about electrical hi tec is b//s and has a small history ...oil is the best way to go

I agree, I just don't know anyone who has tried one of these modules, so thought I'd ask.

Thanks,

the biggest issue with rust proofing is that they don't remove any of the rust thats there already. its like sweeping the dirt under the rug, its still there. the modules are no use for an older truck, you already have rust on it so you are pissing in the wind with that.

I'm doing mine this week, I will post some photos of where the worst places are. you need to wire brush it off for it to be any use and use a primer; cold Galv spray works best, a couple of coats (it dries in 10-15 minutes) then put the rust proofing on, I did 2 coats and it looks good. I went to the car wash last night and checked the under side after the floor jets did their thing; perfect. It took me just over an hour to do one side of my H2 but at least I know its done right. you don't have to be a pro to do this, so far it has cost me about $30 on paint and $3 for a hand wire brush and paint scraper, I have a grinder and I spent $20 on a wire wheel for the heavy parts.

Honestly, I love working on my truck and as I said it is done right. its a great feeling to know that you can do it yourself in your drive and all you need are some old clothes, some plastic for the ground and a little bit of time

Just because I drive a HUMMER don't mean I don't care about the planet.... in fact it means I can get to most parts without any help!
(try that in your prius)

Are you doing inside door panels, and fenders and all that good stuff? I used to do my car many years ago, and ripped half of it apart to get everywhere I could.

This year ive got 4 vehicles to do, my H1, sports car, and my parents car and truck. And plan on doig it myself. My dad talked to someone at Napa and they are having a sale on the fluid soon. I also found a place that sells the Krown oil in either a 5gal bucket or barrel.

I was going to use a weed sprayer for applying it, but last week princess auto had tow behind lawn sprayers for 80% off, so i picked up a electric tow behind spray with pump and wand and all the goodies, and a 25gal tank for like 45$. Should work awesome for doing rust proofing atleast i will know that i tried to get every immaginable square inch of the hummer drenched in the good stuff

Hey, that's the same stuff I used to use on my car! Worked wonders. Each year I would go under and touch-up any place that flaked off. Maybe I'll use it instead of paint on my rear differential/axle area. It has that nice surface rust, making it look bad from the rear.
