The video pretty much speaks for itself... the driver owns an exotic car dealership in Calgary and personally owns the Enzo he entered into the Targa Newfound rally this year. The Targa rally is completed on closed, but public roads! Through neighborhoods and on public highways, it's actually a really cool event. The Ferrari is apparently pretty well modified and pumps out around 850hp! Had an accident during the race and spun the car around at a bad time, right into the Altantic! He seems to have taken a good attitude towards the incident though so kudos to the guy for that.

One 1.5 million dollar car one very expensive wipeout. He should have driven a Hummer it probably would have driven back out.

Yeah that would be Zahir, he owns ZR Auto. He did that stunt up at the air base near Fort Mac where he "raced" a jet on a tarmac recently as well.
I've heard he is a complete asshole unless you have something he wants, so I don't feel so bad for him.
I don't think he can drive worth shit either, the car just has an insane amount of assists that make you look like a superstar... but it can't save you when set your car up for F1 and then hit Targra with it.

It actually has a snorkel to an intake on the roof, so he may get off lucky in that sense. However it is ocean water... so pretty much the entire electrical system is going to be ruined in that car.

Friends have dealt with him in the past. It's true. When I saw the first photograph from Targa Newfoundland, I thought I recognized the Ferrari. And when I saw him a few feet away, I recognized him immediately. My first thoughts were a) it couldn't have happened to a better guy and <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> why could the car have not been destroyed?

Yeah I don't know him personally only through people; there are a couple of people that seem to like the guy so I shouldn't really bash him until I get a first hand encounter myself.

Re: Calgary Owner Ferrari Enzo - Driven in the Ocean!
Interesting story, I was at the ZR open house one year where they put all their exotics on display and he was there just mingling with everyone. I shook the guy's hand and he was nice at the time, asked if I was enjoying the vehicles etc. Had his Enzo on display on a big open platform for everyone to get up close and poke their heads in, that was actually pretty cool to see the car so up close and really amazed me he would allow access like that. He even started the thing at one point and it sounds like nothing I have ever heard!! The video really doesn't capture the sound one little bit... kinda sounds like ass in the video but right there it's quite unreal!! I've heard of the guy's shady past and definitely he has that reputation for being an ass, but my brief experience was alright!
I dunno I feel it's true what they say though, even the pros have accidents, and maybe he's just not qualified to drive such a powerful vehicle but even if he was, a spin around like that could happen anywhere and certainly does on a road course you've never driven at speed before. But this time.. one spin wound him up in the water which bites but that's the risk you take!!!
