Attention all H1 owners...you should rustproof every year and if you don't think so... take a look at these photos..this is a 94 H1..never been rust proofed and it has been stored outside..it is an original Canadian Truck...amazing...check your controller arms and make sure you rustproof all your trucks, car, whatever...this is not safe..
Thanks Phil for the tip and the chance to take the photos....by the way this truck is getting all new controller arms...lucky the shocks and springs didn't snap right through..amazing.. the pry bar is just there to show you the holes..
If you haven't rust proof, maybe you should

Holy Crap! I thought those control arms were a lot thicker than that! I never thought that could even be possible! Guess I have some checks to do!

IF its that bad on the lower A arms the frame and especially the crossmembers must be just as bad or worse. Shame, a few hours under the truck each year would have saved that one.
Me, i do my own rustproofing and use a mixture of used Dextron 3, Vaseline and black 15/40 oil heated and applied with a brush or sprayer. Very little needed and works great as a wipedown as it leaves a good residue behind. Cleans off with degreaser if you have to get show ready. This along with yearly Tremclad black touchups here and there will help somewhat. Also i think most of us probably wash our trucks way to much. Water is bad!! beter to clean with compressed air(30psi)and or WD40. Whenever i take stuff apart from underneath i will repaint it as well. Done properly it can hold off the rust for years and just plain looks better.

It could have been a West Coast vehicle ( BC ) with salty air from the pacific all yrs around. incredible what salt air can do to a vehicle. But I agree with Derek that is dangerous, amazing that the coil didnt just snaped out of it or just go through.
look at all the driving component,, rusty so bad,, but the bumper and bracket, looks almost brand new.
