Re: 407 ETR
I have my truck in Quebec plates but live in Ontario (and Montreal) I was sent a bill aswell. The 407 (toll road) screws up a lot. I would suggest to call them and let them know you recieved a bill for a vehicle that doesnt match your plates. (don't give them your plate number)

it's a pay per use highway. I would go online and contact the ETR. No sense paying for somebody else's bill! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ngHead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ngHead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':banghead:' />

Re: 407 ETR
Received a bill from them last month for 12$ some, when I contacted them they explained to me that I've been on a toll HWY. At first I argued with her mentioning that I never been anywhere in ON recently, She sent me a picture of the front and rear of my vehicle as proof with license plate. then she told me what area it was, even if the map on the bill was clearly showing the total section of the Toll. Then a realized that it was when I went to the ASI electronic show in Markham. I didn't realized that I was on a toll HWY on my way back as it was almost midnight, never saw a sigh about a toll hwy, but just to get then off my back i paid the 12$.
Here in Montreal, they have a new bridge, tunnel or connector ( cant say never took it and not planing to) connecting Laval to Montreal,, and they implemented the toll and 1 bill, is the fee, if you don't pay they send you a second bill, + 75$ admin, if you still don't pay within 30 day, the 3rd bill comes with a fine of 250$ + court fee. Didn't want this to happen. I pay over the phone the 12$ no opening of account and no buying of transponder for regular user. So just make sure you haven't been there,, they have the picture if they sent you the bill, they checked the licensing bureau got the plate number and got registry of vehicle and address of owner.
They use the same type a cam as photo radar, they cant really miss and its clear as day,

Re: 407 ETR
A couple years ago we got a 407 bill, and in the same pile of mail delivered that day was a collection notice for that very bill. We checked the dates thinking maybe we just never received the original bill, but nope, both the bill and the collection agency letter was dated for the SAME day.
This past summer we got detoured off the 407 through some side roads and back onto the 407, due to a closure for highway re-paving, when we got the bill we got charged for those exit and entries as if they were different trips. My wife called and explained it was not our fault we had to get off the highway it was theirs.... they said we should have checked their website as this detour was noted there! Well my wife at this point kind of lost it on them, and they removed the charges. A lot like she did over the collection letter. The 407 is horrendous at billing, never pay for something you didn't do with these guys. I use the 407 because it saves a mountain of time and agrivation compared to driving through Toronto, but we check every bill carefully. They also double bill frequently if you are towing a trailer. However, if you call about that, they are quick to remove the extra charge.
