Gas Tank Filter?

Post by Gadgets »

On our October outing, someone (Derek I think) told me about a filter on the gas tank I need to be aware of. Apparently if this gets plugged it can be hard to get gas into the tank without the nozle kicking out. Well the last few fill-ups I have had this problem. I just can't remember where it is located and/or what I am looking for. Can one of you wise H2 owners fill me in a bit?

It is a black cylinder shape located behind the driver's door at the frame .. should have some rubber lines going to it and a vent hole. Inside is a carbon filter, I think....

If not, PM Derek as he knows and so would Polar Bear.....

Today I finally got to looking for this filter on the gas tank. Anyone know what it is actually for??

Anyway there are two things under there, one I managed to get out, it was full of mud. All cleaned up now, the other I gave up on for today as it got to dark and I was running out or patience. Really awkward to remove. Can someone tell me which is going to be the real problem? I'm guessing the bigger of the two, but the little one was full of mud so....
