Wanted: H1 "offroad" pipe

Post by priuseater »

Just thought i would ask and see if anyone has a "offroad" cat bypass pipe sitting around. I know i can order one from rubber duck or uorva, but if its already in canada, that would be helpful.

Thanks

Lucky you!, yea i heard it when you drove in at the pit stop on our way to rib fest.

Ive give Phil a call and see whats goin on.

My plan for the pipe btw, is so i can test out a electric exhaust cutout on it instead of modding one on the factory exhaust; i would like to be able to put everything back to stock if needed.

Seeing how our diesels dont really smoke "for entertainment sake", having a cutout so you can have the turbo whistle and then close it if you need to be quiet would be a neat feature in my opinion. Plus in my quest to get a full stainless exhaust system hasnt been to sucessful, this would be the next best thing.

Id be weary of using an electric cutout (or any type of cutout for that matter) if you plan on offroading, or winter driving your truck. Mud, sand, salt, silt, and snow tend to work horrors on the cutouts, nevermind the fact that Im hard pressed to believe that the cutout will really make that noticeable of a sound difference or power difference. Just get the cat hollowed out, and see if someone can conspicuously open the muffler and hollow out the baffles as much as possible to reduce backpressure. You'll never get the sound of a Ford or Cummins diesel outta your truck short of doing a motor swap lol.

Okey dokey then. I guess ill leave that cutout project on the back burner and just hunt around for a offroad pipe. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />
