I think the main reason why there is such a big difference between the numbers is the setup of the rigs as well as driving style. Also fuel grade will play a difference.

I was thinking the following mods affect my fuel consumption the most:

Running MT tires vs AT ---- 1 Liter

Running 37's vs 34.4's (stock) ---- 1 Liter

Having 4 Offroad lights, a roof rack and brush guard (more wind resistance) --- 1 Liter

Having 4 People in the car vs just the driver (about 7% more weight) ---- 1 Liter

Running 87 vs 91 octane ---- 1 Liter?<img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='???' />? (not sure if this really makes a difference - some say no)

Driving 2003 vs 2005 model (9 more hp) ---- maybe 0.5 Liter

So this would acount to about 4-5 Liters more consumption.....by the way, if anybody is running bigger tires, the computer will not tell you the correct numbers...you have to take of some percent to account for the larger circumference of the tires.

Guys.... I have 37s and about an extra 500 - 1000+ pounds of weight on my truck compared to a regular H2 with all the custom MODS but this has always been, I use 87 octane fuel, use all synthetic fluids, major gobi roof rack with Spare up top, and complete rubber duck underbody protection.

Nothing new has been added to my truck since the drop... anyways it will be making a trip to see Steve and see if he can figure it out..

As for the Belt pully for the AC belt, that was changed like 2 years ago and the belt was replaced same time.. but I do not believe the noise is from there.. also brand new water pump installed 1.5 years ago also.. so I will just give the truck to Steve and let him take a over all look..

Thanks for all the advice..

Derek has a lot of Mods and extra pounds on his Rig . For those who have seen it up close . They know . Most important Gang.. let's not rule out this .

yea yea Johnny...that was a long time ago and had all the bugs from there fixed up since then.. I believe the cold has been the trigger...but who knows.. there might have been some hidden MUD that I didn't notice but it has been rust proofed since and Phil cleaned it all out underneath..

When was last time you changed the plugs and wires and ran an injector clean through it?

Also the serp belt check it to see if is glazed if so there is a spray for that a serp belt should only be 40 bucks.

What about map sensor and the AIC (Air Intake Censor ) Quick clean is to use intake cleaner I use SEA FOAM cleaner I think its called, it has two parts one is a spray for MAP and IAC spray 1/2 can on your MAP and 1/2 a can directly in your intake you have to remove breather and then turn key to accessory not starting Hummer and get the gas pedal to open butterfly then spray inside to clean IAC. Then take the other can which goes into your gas tank these work as a cleaner and a lube.

Hope this helps

Plugs and wires.. maybe 3 years ago..no cleaner for awhile, might give that a go..as for the Serpentine belt.. I plan on changing that, I ahve a spare, of course..

That seems crazy you guys! This summer road-tripping my best tank was 14.8L/100km (first and last time I ever saw mileage like that though). I've got a set of mudders too not even highway tires... Mine is pretty well stock with just an intake, exhaust and Hypertech. Also replaced all fluids with Amsoil synthetics last Spring...

Try running a can of Seafoam through the engine and see if that makes a difference as I've always had good results with the stuff! But everyone says I drive like a grandma so could be that it as well... Image

Where did you get Amsoil JL, and who put it in for you?

Local Napa carries stock of the Amsoil, went to a local garage for the tranny service and the rest I did in my garage! Can't remember with the H3 but the H2 has got drain plugs on everything so it's suuuper easy and quick doing the diffs and t-case at home.
