My H3 grew up!

Post by Autumn Walker »

I just traded my H3 in for an H2 - found a great deal at a local GM dealership and I couldn't pass it up.

Image

Traded the H3 in on a 2007 HUMMER H2 LUX - factory 4:1 low range, 4.10 gears, electronic locker in the rear, UCP, rock rails.

I pulled my winch, onboard air, CB, and stereo off the H3 before I traded it in so all those parts will be migrated to the H2. I'm thinking about some chrome delete as well. It's not too bad now, but I think the brush guard has to go!

The truck has 35" BFG A/T tires on it so it'll be a lot more civil on road than the H3 was and the 6.0L V8 helps a lot too with the highway compared to the 3.7L I5 that the H3 had. The LUX package helps a lot too - much more comfortable inside than the H3 was... not to mention more space!

Just because I drive a HUMMER don't mean I don't care about the planet.... in fact it means I can get to most parts without any help!

Looks great. You could always spay the brush guard black and get rid of the side steps. MUst be a different world coming from an H3 to an H2....just don't be shocked if it used twice as much gas as the I5

Hey hey ! Nothing wrong with the H3 . With some proper mods its a awesome Rig ! It can go on Trails / fit where The H2 can not ! Like Indy said . Check your gas bill in a year ! There are also many other advantages to the H3 . JUST NOT WORTH THE TIME EXPLAINING ! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/c-n.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':coffeenose:' />

lol I didn't say anything bad about my H3 - I just wanted something bigger. The I5 in the H3 is woefully underpowered for the truck, especially with the 35" M/T tires I had on it.

The H2 has plenty of power, plenty of space, and will make a much better expedition rig (to suit my purposes). I loved my H3, but I have moved on.

Ya, a friend of mine has a paint shop; I might check into getting him to paint it for me.

It's different, but similar. Obviously it's more luxurious and larger, but it still feels like a HUMMER... er, perhaps the H3 felt like a HUMMER. So far I'm averaging about the same L/100KM as the H3 with the 35" M/T tires.

the H3 also gets stuck in the snow a lot...... although that could just be Johnny

The H2 is great in the snow... I can vouch for that. Very stable and inspires confidence.

Although, I never got stuck in the snow in my H3 it was a little more... frisky?

Yep I hear ya dude! I made the same trade about 1 year ago myself. I loved my H3 and would still like another at some point, but overall if I can only have one I think for me personally, the H2 is my choice. NOTHING bad to say about the H3 though, had a ton of fun in mine!!

No idea what you were getting for mileage in your H3 but I also had some 35" M/Ts, those big tires killed the mileage big time! My H2 gets slightly better mileage than the H3... Sounds crazy I know! I was doing about 20L/100km in the H3 after the big tires went on, but with the H2 in mixed driving I see 17-18L/100km... Image
