Honestly, despite it sounding like a daunting task, there is one tool you need (specialty tool), and it actually a fairly simple repair that there is an excellent walk-thru to quell any hesitations you may have. Also, given that this is and will be a very common and re-occuring repair you'll be encountering, the tool will pay for itself soon and knowledge will save you money in the long run.

thanks for the tip hesh. I have never done this before and afraid i will screw up one or two steps. It would be awesome if i know anyone who has done it locally and willing to give me a hand on this. If not where does anyone take their H1 for service? I got horror stories with our only local dealer in town and refuse to step in the shop ever again.

Hi neighbour:

What year and model do you have? Are you mechanically adept? Your best bet if you can't or don't want to do work yourself is to find a good local auto shop (not a dealer, definately not Dueck) and the shop manual for your truck then copy the relevant maintenance section(s) and provide it to the shop so that they don't have to go hunting for it.

I'd help but don't have my garage yet. I do have manuals for 96, 98 and 99 so could help you with this part of the solution.

I'm over in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. We really should organize a Vancouver-area H1 get-together one of these days.

Good luck,

Hello

I am up Island and want to have some work done on my 04 Wagon.

I would be interested in hiring a good mechanic. Keep in touch if someone pops up.
