Air Suspension issues

My air suspension in my 2005 H2 SUT has been causing me problems for over a year now. Three or four times a week the air will completly empty from the suspension and will stay empty for about 20km or longer if it is cold out. If I stop the truck and get out the compressor is pumping but you can hear the hissing out somewhere at the rear, on the drivers side. I will drive for a while and then they will pump back up for the rest of the day and overnight and not lose any air. I have had it to two mechanics but no resolution.

Sounds like there is a leak somewhere. Have you replaced the airbags? They're fairly inexpensive to buy, and installation is quite easy - a nice little diy project for the weekend. If you don't plan on using the old airbags anymore, you can just cut them and wont have to lower the rear axle quite as far. But even if you decide to keep them, just deflate them as much as possible and lower the axle as much as you can. Here's an ebay link for a set of airbags, but maybe you can find them cheaper still.

Or you can buy only one for half the price, if you know it's only the driver's side.



This is all assuming that the bags/assembly is leaking of course.

There is no leaks. When the air leaves the suspension it takes about 20 seconds to completely empty. You can hear the air leaving the system like a vave is open . When it decides to fill back up it stay full for a few days. When I park the truck for a few days the suspension stays full. Could have something to do with the load leveler. When I park the truck with the front end higher than the rear the air suspension most times will empty.

I did the coil spring conversion cuz the air suspension was never working well.
