Hydra Boost System

Ok so had service brake booster come up a while ago. Before going to Cuba brakes got really soft so got booster from wreckers we put it in, now the problem is as follows.



I had no pedal pressure before we started now I have pressure (resistance) from booster in pedal but no brakes!!!

So put a master in it yes bench bleed it then we did a 4 wheel gravity bleed of all lines and service to braking system!!!

There is no air in lines we bleed brake lines twice to make sure!!

However there was air in the power steering as that is what powers the booster.

Now that being said I just found out there is a recall on my 03 as follows:

Description of Recall:

CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, PICKUP TRUCKS, AND PASSENGER VANS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 135, ?PASSENGER CAR BRAKE SYSTEMS.? SOME OF THESE VEHICLES WERE PRODUCED WITH AN OUT-OF-SPECIFICATION BRAKE HYDRO-BOOST HOUSING RELIEF VALVE BORE.



Action Needed To Fix It:

DEALERS ARE TO REPLACE THE HYDRO-BOOST RELIEF VALVE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 18, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT CADILLAC AT 1-866-982-2339; CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438; GMC AT 1-866-996-9463; OR HUMMER AT 1-866-486-6376.



I am going to call GM today to see if this was ever done but if it was anyone got any hints that we might have missed?

Did you make sure the push rod length was the same prior to putting in the hydro boost unit? when you gravity bleed system, did you just open the bleeders and drain?

My preference is to pressure bleed by foot ,just making sure the person applying the brakes only does half pedal applies so the master cylinder is not jeopardized. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/c-n.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':coffeenose:' />
