Syntetic oil

Post by SADA »

Hi everyone. I can't decide between synthetic or regular oil. I am planning to change all off the oil in my 2008 H3 to synthetic one. I need some help, what do you guys think and what brand to use, thinking of AMSOIL.

Thank you.

Amsoil is very good!

I also really like Pennzoil Platinum as well. I ran synthetic Royal Purple, Mobile1 and Pennzoil in my car and Pennzoil was the only on that actually cleaned out the engine. The other two came out roughly as you'd expect, however with Pennzoil the first change I did with it was almost black, the second change was so clean it looked like almost new oil. Was really impressive!

That is what I am using in my truck right now actually. I also replaced the transfer case recently with a Moble1 and one of the differentials with Amsoil last year. If it was easier to get a hold of and a bit cheaper I'd probably go Amsoil again for the front diff... but as I plan to change it out once a year anyway I will probably just go with a cheaper synthetic instead.

I have mobile1 in my H2, it came very highly reccomended from to automotive sources. I also know Amzoil is very good as well, and I know a local distributor, no idea what he would sell it to me for, haven't needed it yet.
