Canmore? That is the wrong direction even for you Cochrane westerners is it not?

I think we should stick to the plan of meeting in Bragg Creek at 7 and heading out on the 22 from there for an awesome scenic trip south. If we stick to a good pace of 110 kmph - we'll make good time...

This is the best solution, meet there at 6:30 to 7:00 then budget 2.5 hours to Blairmore... keep in mind that google estimates it to take 2 hours & 45 minutes. That will put you there at around 9:30 to 10:00. I'd say you set the meeting point at the Tims in Blairmore.

I will put these up temporarily:

The ghost town is located somewhere here:

Entry point is via the frank slide interpretation centre

Loop eventually meets up with highway 40 again:

I know very little about how much snow is there, or how much it might slow you down.

I think we have everything covered...

So the NW Calgary/Cochrane group will meet up in Bragg Creek for 630 in the main parking lot beside where Husky used to be. As we will be filling up in Bellevue, make sure you gas up the night before to save us time in the morning to we can just head out when we are all there so meet up with Rick & posse by 7 at the 22 intersection.

Important things to remember/have:

Remove side steps

Bring trail gear/tools

Bring food for 2 meals and extra trail snacks

Bring extra clothes

Bring a garbage bag or 2

When on the trail, we will need to be vigilant! if the terrain is the same as racehorse creek... Expect the unexpected and we need to watch for bogs as they may be hidden by grass and you will sink rather quickly!

Make sure you have a camera as the scenery in these areas is breath taking!
